JUST DO YOU
A schism exists that can't be ignored
Amongst those of us that are Trans
The issue of 'passing' can be volatile
When making your transition plans
Some of us don't want that kind of spotlight
Shone on us for everyone to see
Embarrassed in public when you then get 'read'
The result is you just want to flee
Some of us dont care that others find out
So proudly we fly the Trans flag
The problem's when your pride puts safety at risk
You'll end up 'just another 'dead fag'
For some of us passing's just not possible
Bone structure will give you away
Like it or not they just single you out
As another Trans freak on display
Being who you are is not about tricks
Or illusions that might hide
the truth
What gives you the right to investigate us
Like your job's to be a gender sleuth
Backed into corners what options are there
You're damned if you don't or you do
Judgments and stigma
Will always exist
The right answer is you just do you.
