OUR SISTERHOOD EVOLVES
There's a big game playing out
On keyboards and in news
Transwomen playing girls sports
How polarized our views
The claim that's made is that
We don't respect biology
Furthermore, they say science
Is something that we flee
Transwomen are used to this
Our bodies scrutinized
By the same kinds of people
Who openly despise
This entire subject should
Be handled carefully
A nuanced understanding of
Hormones n' bone density
It's needed when considering
If on the field of play
Trans and Cis women compete
Should legislation stay?
Arguing that competing
Sets women's rights amiss
Parents worried daughters
Scholarships will be at risk
Labeling those Transgirls as
Just men wearing a dress
Brings discrimination and
Bigotry into this mess
All these things have merit
And should surely see debate
Decisions should respect us all
And not be based on hate
When endocrine systems align
And muscles even out
All women should get to play
There's no reason to pout
When we stop testosterone
And time gets factored in
We don't dominate the court
It's a baseless chagrin
Inclusiveness in sport is good
Benefits ALL of us
We can lift each other up
Not throw under the bus
Transgirls playing Women's Sport
A problem we must solve
Let's reinforce diversity
As our sisterhood evolves!
