SACRIFICE
Do our leaders represent us all
Even those like me?
I'm a proud Transgender woman
Flying the flag LGBT
I live outside accepted norms
Through no choice of my own
Resigned to being by myself
And living life alone
Even finding work is rare
A struggle just to eat
How many kicked-out Transkids
Are now living on the street?
It's dangerous to come out
And embrace all that you are
But if you live in hiding
It just leaves a mental scar
No more barriers or stigma
It's our hope and constant plea
Mocking your identity
When you must show ID
What we go through to be ourselves
Extracts a heavy cost
We must shine a light on this
Before more lives are lost
Marginalized communities
The ripest fruit to pick
Transwomen sacrifice the most...
It isn't just our dick.
